- Dell PowerEdge R630 servers feature the latest Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors and optional SSD storage.
- The new processors deliver increased performance of 30 percent over the previous generation.
- DDR4 memory ensures faster data transfer and lower power requirements.
Global Web hosting provider, 1&1 Internet (www.1and1.com), has integrated Dell systems as well as the latest generation of Intel processors for its new business line of dedicated servers. Small- and medium-sized companies benefit from the powerful servers with the most advanced, cutting-edge technology and integrated management functions.
The Dell servers that 1&1 is now deploying for its dedicated server systems are equipped with the latest Intel Haswell processors (Xeon E5-2600 v3) with eight and ten processor core options. The PowerEdge systems occupy one unit in the 19 inch rack and feature 64 or 128 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM memory. Storage is handled by four and six terrabyte 1.8″ SATA hard disks and RAID 6 hardware, while additional Intel-SSD storage is optionally available.
1&1, Dell and Intel are cooperating in connection with the Dell-managed service provider program in order to provide optimal support for the new “1&1 Dedicated Server” offerings.
“The combination of the new Dell servers and the all-new Intel Xeon generation is capable of delivering performance improvements of up to 30 percent over the previous generation”, said Robert Hoffmann, CEO of 1&1 Internet. “At the same time, additional power saving mechanisms enable lower power consumption savings that we are able to pass on to our customers. In addition, the servers of our new 1&1 Business Line offer sufficient performance resources for virtually every use case.”
“In an assessment of all the key decision parameters, 1&1 concluded that Dell holds the number one position in all areas,” explained Armin Fischer, Large Enterprise Sales Director with Dell in Frankfurt. “Today we are pleased that we not only met the high technical requirements, but that we have also built up excellent, trust-based relations with 1&1 over the course of the project preparation period.”
“Our new Xeon E5 processors deliver unrivalled performance, as well as energy efficiency and security,” said Christian Lamprechter, Managing Director of Intel in Germany. “In addition, the Xeon E5′s new management features allow entirely new server administration options.”
