As well as adding support for the latest version PHP5.5, 1&1 now offers trial installations of Click & Build Apps. Additionally, 1&1 SiteLock is now included within selected packages enabling website owners to monitor online security levels.

1&1 Web hosting is continually optimized for those who rely heavily on website applications for website design and development. 1&1 packages already include the most popular Click & Build applications with two installation methods: Safe Mode and Free Mode, which allows for more coding freedom. From today, all 1&1 Click & Build applications will have an evaluation option for users to explore the App in either mode before deciding which one to implement. Offering the same functionality and pre-installed plug-ins as the full install, the evaluation period will last for 30 days, during which the transfer from trial to full installation can be completed at any time. All content generated during the evaluation period will be moved to the regular installation once activated by the user.

1&1 advises businesses that a website that loads slowly or has images displayed incorrectly can damage their online reputation. To further safeguard against this, 1&1 has enriched its CDN, powered by CloudFlare, to provide targeted help. Firstly, a new Mirage™ feature analyses a Web user’s connection and screen size, (such as smartphone, desktop, tablet or laptop), to ensure that all images are being displayed effectively.

1&1’s SiteLock feature allows customers to scan their website for design vulnerabilities and stay informed about their online security levels – an important issue for both website owners and visitors. From today, 1&1 has added this feature at no extra charge to more Web hosting packages in the range.

1&1 CDN powered by Cloudflare, and 1&1 SiteLock Basic are now included within 1&1 Unlimited packages, from $4.99/month, and 1&1 Performance packages, from $7.99/month, and all 1&1 Managed Server packages from $59.99/month for one domain per package. Mirage™ is included in all 1&1 CDN or 1&1 CDN Plus packages, and additional packages can be added ($4.99 and $9.99 respectively) for those customers who wish to leverage the feature for more than one domain. Additionally, 1&1 Performance hosting packages and all 1&1 Managed Servers now include Railgun™ within their CDN.

1&1 Starter and 1&1 Basic hosting customers can add SiteLock Basic for $0.99 per account or $4.99 for each 1&1 SiteLock Premium account. The same price points are applied for those wishing to add a SiteLock feature to additional domains.
