Montabaur, December 19, 2012. The Supervisory Board of United Internet AG yesterday appointed Mr. Robert Hoffmann as an additional member of the company's previously two-man Management Board. In his new position as of January 1, 2013, Robert Hoffmann will support the CEO, Ralph Dommermuth, with the strategic development of United Internet AG and stand in for him whenever necessary. This new role will not affect the current operational responsibility of Robert Hoffmann as Management Board Speaker and Management Board member responsible for Hosting and E-Business Applications at 1&1 Internet AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Internet AG.
Robert Hoffmann, born in 1969, has been with 1&1 Internet AG since June 2006 and held various positions on the Management Board. He has played a major role in determining the company's strategic direction. As Management Board member responsible for the Access division, he first successfully changed the company's DSL business model to complete packages, integrated the DSL business of freenet and expanded the 1&1 business model with the addition of mobile internet products. Since May 2008, Robert Hoffmann has also acted as the Management Board Speaker of 1&1 Internet AG. After realigning 1&1's international sales operations in 2011/2012 as Management Board member responsible for Sales, Robert Hoffmann has headed the Hosting division of 1&1 since October 2012.
Moreover, Robert Hoffmann was elected to the Executive Committee of the German Association of Telecommunications and Value-Added Service Providers (VATM) in 2009 and is active in the German NGA Forum of the Federal Network Agency and on the "Telecommunications Industry Advisory Board" of WIK (Scientific Institute for Communication Services).
