We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our Data Center Network Services team in Germany. You can expect to work with modern, globally distributed, and massively scalable infrastructures. 

The team is responsible for the management of data center networks across all IONOS Group members - we lead the operation and transformation of traditional network platforms to modern data center fabric architectures. 

Tasks

• Design, deploy, and manage highly available data center network architectures.  
• Analyze customer requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to solution architecture and network service design in collaboration with other IT teams.
• Manage firewall systems and develop security measures for new services.
• Evaluate and assess new technologies and products.
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with data center network equipment from a range of vendors including Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and white-label switches.
• Ability to implement network functions on Linux systems.
• Extensive knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VXLAN and EVPN technologies.
• Passionate and enthusiastic about modern network design concepts, including underlay and overlay networking.
• A preference for automation using Ansible, Python, Go and Terraform to speed up manual tasks.
• A fan of open source, especially Linux, just like us! 
• Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience designing and implementing multitenant VXLAN EVPN fabrics.
• Advanced knowledge of load balancing solutions such as HAProxy, LVS, or F5.
• Experience working with SONiC.
