As an Information Security Architect and Manager (Hybrid Role) at IONOS, you will play a pivotal part in designing and implementing security solutions in a highly scalable cloud environment. Your primary focus is to coach development teams on all aspects of IT security and actively support them in creating resilient and future-proof security architectures.

Tasks

• Coaching & Advising
  • Conducting workshops and coaching sessions for development teams on best practices in cloud security, secure coding, and threat modeling
  • Advising on compliance requirements (ISO 27001, GDPR/DSGVO, BSI)
  • Preparing for and supporting audits and certifications
• Risk Assessment
  • Identifying and evaluating security risks in IT systems, processes, and infrastructure
  • Selecting and implementing appropriate security measures (e.g., firewalls, encryption, access controls)
• Security Architecture – Design, Implementation & Documentation
  • Contributing to the design and further development of a security-as-code-driven cloud security architecture
• Security Incident Management & Emergency Planning
  • Developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Coordinating responses to security incidents

Qualifications

• Professional Background
  • Completed studies in (Business) Informatics, Engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in IT security, ideally within cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Technical Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of network security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and container security
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
• Soft Skills & Coaching Competencies
  • Strong communication skills to engage and develop both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience preparing and delivering training sessions, workshops, or mentoring programs
• Personal Attributes
  • Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with a “hands-on” approach
  • Proactive and team-oriented work style Willingness to learn, openness to new technologies, and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge

Language: English C1 and German C1

Location: Berlin or Karlsruhe
