The IT Operations Application Hosting team is looking for a talented and passionate BigData Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on Linux, Kafka and Kubernetes. If you are passionate about both the design and operation of highly available BigData and streaming platforms and are always looking for new challenges, you've come to the right place. Tasks
- As part of the team, you will design a new geo-redundant event streaming platform based on Kafka and Kubernetes, which you will set up and operate in our IONOS Cloud.
- In addition, you will jointly operate our Hadoop-based web analytics platform.
- You will accompany and advise our internal customers from the areas of Campaign Solutions, Data Solutions and Product Analytics in projects on infrastructure-related topics.
- You will take part in a rotating on-call service if a problem cannot be resolved through a self-healing process.
Qualifications
In addition to a successfully completed technical degree or comparable training, you are a team player who enjoys designing and operating large BigData infrastructures and complex systems. You have already gained experience in operating Kafka, Kubernetes and Linux as part of your previous professional career. Practical experience with Hadoop would be a great advantage.
You are a strong advocate of automation. When you recognise a problem, you can't help but fix it at the root. You are familiar with agile working methods and your heart beats for topics related to Cloud Native and BigData.
- Experience in setting up and operating Kafka and ideally Hadoop.
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system, container technologies and Kubernetes.
- Experience in using software and tools for automation and configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Rundeck, SaltStack, Terraform, helm).
- Programming skills, e.g. in Golang, Python or Java.
- Experience in operating and troubleshooting highly available, distributed BigData infrastructures and applications.
