Your Tasks

Are you looking for a responsible position in which you can manage the storage backbone for one of Europe's largest email providers? Then you've come to the right place! Over 43 million active users are registered with us and thousands of emails are processed every second. We need a visionary Head of Backend Storage (f/m/d) who, together with their team, will manage our multi-petabyte storage infrastructure. You will play a key role in the development of our next-generation mail storage, ensuring reliability, scalability and innovation.

• Be responsible for capacity management and ensure that our storage infrastructure keeps pace with customer growth and new product offerings.
• Coordinate and troubleshoot incidents to further improve our excellent uptime.
• Work closely with the teams in our internal development and product management department. Together you will define the requirements that support our strategic goals.
• Help develop our next-generation mailstore. Design it so that it can meet future requirements efficiently and flexibly.

We Appreciate

Have you already worked for several years as a systems engineer (f/m/d) in large, highly available Linux environments? You already have basic leadership skills and would like to lead a cross-functional team of seven employees? Then send us your application!

• You are experienced in working with Kubernetes, Docker and cloud-native storage solutions such as Ceph and can effectively manage a large and dynamic open source environment.
• You are familiar with automation and configuration management - tools such as Puppet and Ansible are familiar to you, as are the principles of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• You have experience in using monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. You can also forecast and proactively manage storage resource requirements.
• You have practical experience in working with distributed databases and search platforms, ideally Apache Cassandra and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
